[Some say there is no cure for homophobia, except ignorance.
But love conquers all.
It seems so impossible that love can conquer all, but it truly is the only thing superior to the sickness of homophobia.
Love cures homophobia.]

Critiques

Here you go, Emma! Another critique~. Let's hope I can think of something competent to say.

Anyways, I really enjoyed this piece. I can't stop looking at it. Aside from the watermark - which I think is meant to be destracting ("I'm watermarked, you can't steal me!") - I find this piece quite... Universal.

Not only does the title imply what the image is intending but the image itself could have two meanings. The title-implied meaning, and then, of course, the show of optimism in a dreary pitter-pattery environment.

I love how you made the color of the umbrella just POP in the monochrome grayscale of the rest of the image. I also like how you implored other subtle dashes of color: the very minute amount of blue behind the treeline.

The composition of this piece is lovely. Your eye just moves from one place to the next, never focusing too long on one part, but instead being forced to take in the whole piece over and over again.

Well done, Emma! Well done. :)

Rainy days such as this already carry with them a very dreary feel, and you have managed to amplify that by draining a majority of the color from this picture. The umbrella you've chosen to use works perfectly as it carries with it such a wide array of colors.

The watermark is a tad distracting, but most watermarks usually are.

The emotional response I imagine from this piece is one of a pessimistic world, though the person in the photo is an optimism, and carries the color with them where ever they go.

Overall this is a very nice capture. Well done!
